WoW Auction House Guide

One of the best ways to make gold fast in WoW is through the Auction House. It is imperative to know what you are doing though, or you could very easily lose gold in the process. Imagine what it would be like if you could make tons of gold on the Auction House without endlessly grinding every day. Now imagine yourself opening your mailbox, seeing hundreds of successful auctions... Please grab a hold to that thought.

WoW Auction House Guide

Here are a few quick World of Warcraft Auction House (AH) tips to remember:
  • Know your market. Use Auctioneer to learn what things sell for. Scan frequently. Even though I use the tool, I STILL double-check to make sure I'm not buying up what Auctioneer thinks is a deal because some bozo listed the item at a super-high price. Auctioneer CAN be fooled by enough players over-pricing an item, so I am very careful about relying on Auctioneer to 'buy low, sell high'. Make sure that the 'Seen X number of Times' value in Auctioneer is more than 50 before feeling confident that the price it displays is accurate.
  • Timing is everything. Pay attention to things on your server, like when raids begin. There will be times when, for example, consumables that are normally in good supply are nowhere to be found on the AH, and players need them for a raid (and will pay more). Listing your items at the right time can yield a higher price.
  • Don't sell on weekends. In World of Warcraft, the market is flooded on the weekends, and prices drop.
  • You'll get a better price by selling your items during the week. (Conversely, weekends are a good time to buy items to resell later!)
  • Only buy what you need. If you are leveling, try to avoid buying the best weapon and armor upgrades from the AH every time you ding. In two more levels you'll be getting rewards that are better than what you can buy...so you essentially wasted your gold, unless there is a dramatic upgrade available.
  • Avoid posting odd stacks. Either sell in max size stacks, or, group them in sizes that are frequently used. For example, Runic Healing Potions take 2 Icethorns to make, and Arctic Fur is frequently used in stacks of 8 for crafted items. (Check wowhead.com to research this kind of information.) So, listing Arctic Fur in stacks of 8 instead of 20 is likely to improve your sales.
  • Avoid the Neutral AH. The way World of Warcraft realms are setup, the Neutral AH fees are terrible, the selection is terrible, the prices are terrible. Most people use it as a way to move items from one faction to another (they have a Horde toon and an Alliance toon, and want to send something from one to another...so they list it for their other toon to buy).
The Auction House is great, but it's still hard to average 200 gold per hour with it alone. To maximize your gold farming efforts, you need to combine these Auction House guides along with daily quests, your profession skills and some good old grinding.

The key to this method is finding the most efficient route. This is why I highly recommend getting a WoW Gold Guide, instead of trying to find that perfect routine by trial and error, why not follow a proven one?

Auction House Mystery are just techniques in getting more in the auction house when you are playing warcraft. This guide will not teach you how to earn gold through grinding for hours and hours on end. Instead, you will just need to master the art of trading in Auction Houses.
